A one-time event, for the wine aficionado! Sole screening in Seattle! Seats limited to 350!
Please join us for an exciting evening of film, tasting and celebration, presented by Medium Plus in collaboration with Wine Folly. As an event to kick off the New Year, this special showing will be the Seattle debut for SOMM: Into The Bottle, the second film in the wine-documentary franchise by director Jason Wise. (for free entry, see the “collectors’ note” below)
Through the lens of top winemakers and sommeliers from the world, SOMM: ITB delves into the story and process by which wine makes its way from vine to glass. Among a diverse cast, winemakers include names such as Jean Trimbach, Peter Gago and Steve Matthiasson, plus sommeliers Madeline Puckette, Brian McClintic and Rajat Parr, among many others. Check out the trailer for a sneak-peek.
The showing will begin at 7:00pm in the Nesholm Auditorium, within Seattle’s beautiful McCaw Hall. Doors to open at 6:00pm. Following the film (116 minutes), there will be a brief cast-member discussion, including questions from the audience. Madeline Puckette from Wine Folly, and Master Sommelier Brian McClintic of Viticole Wine will be featured. Wine Folly is the leading internet resource for visually stunning wine education, and the new Wine Folly Book is a New York Times bestseller. Viticole Wine, set to launch in early 2016, is set to redefine the business of wine retail with Brian’s vision. Join the Viticole mailing list now, to gain early access. Please show your support!
Following the discussion, all guests are invited to gather in the main mezzanine lobby, for the Wine Social! Producers from the Old World to our home state of Washington will be featured, including wines highlighted in the film. Talented sommeliers and wine professionals from the Seattle area will be pouring and discussing the selections.
Please note that this event is intended as a full experience, to combine the film and tasting in grand fashion. As such, we ask that all attendees be over 21 years of age. Complimentary light appetizers will be provided by Savor Catering. Other non-alcoholic beverages and snacks will be available for purchase via McCaw Hall Concessions.
Attire: we invite all guests to dress up, just a bit. It is the Opera House, after all. Men need not go full-tuxedo, but perhaps should visit Nordstrom to get those Crocs polished… All kidding aside, a sport coat is always nice, especially with a chic pocket square.
Due to construction projects all over Seattle, we recommend allotting extra time to arrive at the venue. Please visit McCaw Hall’s Getting Here page to learn more about the venue’s locale. Plenty of parking is available nearby, on street-level and in paid garages.
Feel free to contact us with general event inquiries: firstname.lastname@example.org.
SPECIAL COLLECTORS’ NOTE: For those who maintain private cellars, there is an exclusive opportunity available, related to the Wine Social. In addition to our selection of fine wines available at the tasting, we would like to feature examples of the most epic wines from the film. These special bottles, rare as they are, may be at home right now in your collection!
Free entry will be offered to attendees who are able to generously donate a special bottle, to be shared amongst fellow attendees at the tasting. Multiple bottles will definitely be considered. For a full list of wines and to learn more, please contact us at email@example.com.
