Description

Chardonnay from the Côte des Blancs and the northern Montagne de Reims, complemented by Pinot Noir sourced largely from Grand Cru villages, shapes Ruinart Champagne Brut Rosé Dom Ruinart 2004, a cuvée built around the house’s historic sourcing priorities. The 2004 season progressed with steady, balanced ripening, supported in the vineyards through canopy work and soil preservation on chalk dominant slopes. Chardonnay parcels were harvested by hand and vinified separately to capture differences in exposure and chalk depth, while Pinot Noir underwent controlled maceration to produce the still red component required for the rosé assembly. Fermentation took place in stainless steel, followed by tirage and extended lees aging consistent with the house preference for slow, measured development. Within the Dom Ruinart program, the 2004 Rosé provides a benchmark for understanding how a harmonious year interacts with long standing parcel selection and informs decisions around clonal renewal, vineyard sourcing, and aging trajectories for Ruinart’s top wines.
