Description
Helvetian age limestone and clay marl, punctuated by sandstone, give Ravera its distinctive soil architecture and help regulate water availability while moderating vine vigor on one of Barolo’s highest sites. Vietti’s 2015 Barolo Ravera is drawn entirely from this Novello vineyard, where open exposures and steady ventilation extend the maturation window even under solar conditions. The farming program relies on manual work and sustainable practices, with selective harvesting used to manage uniformity across the slope and to keep lot composition aligned with the intended structural profile. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel, with maceration extended and tuned to the density the season provides. Aging then moves into a combination of large oak casks and smaller barrels, building integration while maintaining clarity of site. Within the Vietti range, Ravera occupies a prominent role as a single cru bottling that records how disciplined viticulture and measured élevage keep definition intact in warm vintages.
