Description
An estate reshaped through vineyard renewal and parcel study after its acquisition by the Halley family underpins the 2020 Château de Marsannay Bourgogne du Château, with current holdings mapped in detail across Marsannay and neighboring communes. The regional blend draws on domaine parcels set on gentle slopes, spanning soils from limestone rich colluvium to clay loam with pockets of marl, each affecting drainage, rooting depth, and canopy vigor. Exposures shift across the patchwork, and in a warm, dry vintage the farming approach followed sustainable principles with hands on work aimed at maintaining balance. Grapes are harvested by hand, largely destemmed, and fermented in temperature controlled vats, with extraction adjusted to the structure of each lot. Maturation continues in a mix of stainless steel and neutral oak to preserve transparency of origin. Bourgogne du Château supports the broader program by integrating multiple parcels under a consistent cellar regimen informed by ongoing mapping and refinement of vineyard practice.
