Description
Mid slope terraces south of Pommard define the origin of the 2020 Domaine Génot Boulanger Pommard Les Cras, an estate holding shaped by years of parcel rehabilitation and organic viticulture. Shallow limestone and stony marl soils promote effective drainage and naturally limit vine vigor, while east and southeast exposures provide steady early light tempered by airflow from the Hautes Côtes. Vineyard work is carried out entirely by hand, following a soil centered approach with canopy adjustments adapted to the warmth of the 2020 season. Grapes were harvested manually, largely destemmed, and fermented in small tanks, with extraction calibrated to the lot’s structural tendencies. Maturation in French oak of mixed origin allowed gradual integration. Les Cras occupies a focused position within the domaine’s Pommard portfolio, recording how this stony terrace is translated through disciplined farming and restrained, site attentive élevage.
