Description
Mixed limestone and compact clay on a gentle mid slope define the 2020 Jean-Claude Ramonet Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Boudriotte, interpreted through the domaine’s long tenure in Chassagne and its emphasis on clarity of site expression. These soils encourage slow ripening and establish the wine’s structural framework, with seasonal variability addressed through rigorous pruning, organic oriented soil care, and canopy adjustments. Grapes are harvested by hand and pressed for fermentation in French oak barrels, with a modest proportion of new wood chosen to support quiet evolution. Lees aging continues well into the following year, with regular tasting used to track integration. Within the Ramonet portfolio, Boudriotte reflects a methodical reading of Chassagne’s mineral rich hillsides through disciplined farming and moderate, detail oriented élevage.
