Description
Lower slope vineyards around Puligny-Montrachet define the source of the 2021 Domaine Leflaive Bourgogne Blanc, where limestone influenced soils and cooler airflow promote even ripening. Farming adheres to full biodynamic protocol, incorporating compost preparations, detailed canopy management, and ground cover strategies that extend beyond the requirements of the regional appellation. Grapes are harvested by hand and pressed for fermentation in a mix of French oak barrels and larger foudres, with minimal new wood to maintain clarity from younger and more outlying plots. Lees contact is maintained through the winter, with regular tasting guiding the final assembly. As an entry point in the Leflaive range, this cuvée demonstrates the estate’s principle that regional wines should reflect the same level of care and restraint applied to its premier and grand cru holdings.
