Description
From the Asti area of Monferrato, the 2021 Ezio Trinchero Sogno di Bacco is a Vino Bianco from Piedmont, Italy, made from Malvasia di Candia and released outside a more specific appellation framework. Azienda Agricola Ezio Giacomo Trinchero is based at Vianoce in Agliano Terme, where the Trinchero family has worked since the 1920s and Ezio Trinchero represents the fourth generation. The estate farms about 13 hectares on medium-textured clay and limestone soils, with vineyards that include Barbera, Grignolino, Nebbiolo, Arneis, Malvasia di Candia, Freisa, and other local material. Vineyard work is manual, with hand harvest and a low-intervention approach to treatments. Technical data for Sogno di Bacco do not publish a specific parcel, altitude, or exposure. The wine is listed as a macerated or orange wine, indicating skin contact for the white grape material. The cuvée broadens Trinchero’s work beyond ageworthy Barbera while retaining a focus on Asti varieties, spontaneous fermentation, and artisanal cellar practice.
