Description
From the Alpine slopes near Bressanone in the Isarco Valley, the 2021 Manni Nössing Valle Isarco Grüner Veltliner is an Alto Adige Valle Isarco DOC white wine from Italy made entirely from Grüner Veltliner. Manni Nössing works from Hoandlhof at Kranebitt, where the former family farm shifted from fruit growing toward an independent wine estate at the end of the 1990s, later gaining attention through a self-bottled Kerner first released in 2003. The vineyard setting lies close to the Dolomites and less than twenty miles from Austria, with steep glacial deposits and high-elevation sites around 660 to 700 meters; detailed parcel exposure for this cuvée is not specified in reviewed sources. Grapes are destemmed and softly pressed, then fermented partly in stainless steel and partly in acacia wood at controlled temperature. About five months on fine lees places the wine within Nössing’s work on classic Valle Isarco white varieties, independent cellar decisions, and mountain viticulture.
