Description
High ridge vineyards in Monforte d’Alba underpin the 2022 Castello di Perno Langhe Nascetta, produced in the context of a renewed focus on site specific viticulture alongside the restoration of the historic castle. Nascetta comes from hillside parcels on compact clay limestone, where elevation and exposure slow the ripening curve compared with warmer valley floors below. Sustainable farming emphasizes detailed canopy work and selective harvesting calibrated to maintain the variety’s naturally firm structure. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel under controlled temperatures, followed by a brief period on fine lees to support integration without softening the site’s definition. Within the portfolio, this cuvée occupies a distinct position as a study in reviving traditional Langhe varieties through careful parcel selection and technically restrained cellar practice.
