Description
Southwest facing slopes on the left bank of the Serein underpin the 2022 Domaine Laroche Chablis 1er Cru Les Beauroys, where compact Kimmeridgian limestone layered with fossil rich marl moderates sun exposure and slows ripening. These conditions emphasize the structural elements typical of premier cru Chablis. Vineyard work follows sustainable and increasingly organic principles, with targeted canopy adjustment, balanced yields, and selective hand harvesting across parcels of differing vine age. Fermentation is carried out in a mix of stainless steel and older barrels, allowing individual lots to evolve with measured oxygen exposure, followed by lees aging that refines texture while maintaining mineral driven definition. Les Beauroys occupies a consistent place in the Laroche lineup, serving as a detailed study of left bank Chablis shaped by careful viticulture and precise blending.
