Mid-slope on the Corton hill, the 2022 Domaine Tollot-Beaut Aloxe-Corton 1er Cru Les Vercots is a Côte de Beaune red from Burgundy, France, made entirely from Pinot Noir within the Aloxe-Corton Premier Cru appellation. François Tollot established the domaine in Chorey-lès-Beaune in 1880, and the family became one of the early Côte d’Or producers to bottle under its own name in 1921; fifth-generation cousins Nathalie, Jean-Paul, and Olivier Tollot now oversee the 24-hectare estate. Les Vercots faces due south, where the domaine works just over one hectare of young, low-yielding sélection massale Pinot Noir on deep soils with high limestone content. The wine is raised for about 18 months in Burgundian pièces, with published trade material indicating roughly 50 percent new oak for this cuvée. Les Vercots places the Aloxe-Corton holdings within Tollot-Beaut’s work on family continuity, parcel acquisition beyond Chorey, and structured Premier Cru élevage.
