A walled lower slope site beneath Nuits-Saint-Georges supplies the 2022 Thibault Liger-Belair Bourgogne Aligoté Clos des Perrières La Combe, planted to Aligoté on shallow limestone and marl marked by a high proportion of active calcium. These soils drain efficiently and help regulate vigor in a cool, ventilated setting, while open exposure and consistent airflow from the combe extend the growing cycle. The parcel is tended by hand under organic and biodynamic principles, with attention to soil life and canopy alignment. Grapes are harvested manually and pressed as whole clusters, then fermented with native yeasts in neutral barrels and large wooden vessels. Lees aging proceeds without corrective intervention until the wine stabilizes naturally. This cuvée aligns with the producer’s broader effort to elevate Aligoté through precise site selection and a restrained cellar framework grounded in Côte de Nuits limestone geology.
