Description

From a Potomje vineyard on the Pelješac Peninsula, Bura Estate Pelješac Peninsula Plavac Mali Sivi 2024 is a Croatian wine from the Dalmatian Coast made from Plavac Mali Sivi, a spontaneous gray-berried mutation of Plavac Mali. The wine is associated with the Bura and Mrgudić families of Potomje, where viticulture has been maintained across generations and the present project is linked to Niko Bura and Mare Mrgudić. The cuvée comes from a site identified by the estate as the first sustainable planting of Plavac Mali Sivi in Croatia. Broader Bura-Mrgudić vineyard sources describe mineral-rich gravel terraces, south-facing toward the Adriatic, generally between 150 and 300 meters and set on steep slopes; published cuvée material does not separate a precise altitude for this parcel. Farming is presented through sustainable vineyard management, with importer notes also citing organic work and hand harvest. The wine is aged six months in wooden barrels and twelve months in bottle, placing it within the estate’s focus on Pelješac varieties, local mutations, and family-led viticultural continuity.
