Based in Écueil Premier Cru on the Montagne de Reims, NV Frédéric Savart Champagne Extra Brut 1er Cru Bulle de Rosé, disgorged September 2024, is a rosé Champagne built principally from Pinot Noir, with Chardonnay and a portion of still red Pinot Noir. Frédéric Savart leads the small family grower domaine in Écueil, extending viticultural work established by earlier generations. The estate’s holdings are concentrated in Écueil and Villers-aux-Nœuds, with parcels set on sandy topsoils, mid-slope clay, and chalkier sections, a combination that supports the domaine’s focus on Pinot Noir alongside selected Chardonnay. Farming is presented through respect for natural balance, with attention to individual parcels rather than reliance on a standardized cellar model. For Bulle de Rosé, the blend draws from Écueil Premier Cru fruit and includes red wine to establish the rosé style, while vinification is handled separately by lot, using stainless steel or neutral oak as appropriate, followed by low dosage. The cuvée sits within Frédéric Savart’s broader work with Premier Cru village sources and Pinot Noir-based Champagne.
