Longstanding family holdings in Bouzy also underpin the NV Jean Vesselle Champagne Demi-Sec Rosé Cuvée Friandise, presented here in half bottle. Pinot Noir is sourced from chalk rich slopes with predominantly southern exposures, where variations in chalk depth and water retention influence vine behavior across parcels. Vineyard management centers on balanced canopies, moderated yields, and soil preservation adapted to these subtle differences. Grapes are harvested by hand and pressed in traditional Coquard presses, with the still red Pinot Noir component vinified separately to define color and structural shape. Base wines ferment in stainless steel before secondary fermentation and an extended period on lees. A measured demi sec dosage is applied at disgorgement to align sweetness with acidity. Within the portfolio, Cuvée Friandise documents the estate’s approach to Pinot Noir based rosé and supports ongoing decisions around parcel selection, reserve wine use, and stewardship of Bouzy’s chalk driven vineyards.
