Description
Grand Cru Pinot Noir from the Montagne de Reims, principally around Verzenay and Verzy, forms the basis of NV Petit & Bajan Champagne Brut Blanc de Noirs Grand Cru Obsidienne, drawn from mid slope parcels dominated by chalk and chalk limestone. These sites combine strong drainage with cooler exposures and consistent airflow, supporting a gradual ripening pattern in a zone shaped by pronounced continental tendencies. Viticulture is managed under sustainable practice with strict canopy balance, moderate yields, and hand harvesting timed to secure structurally precise base wines. Fermentation proceeds in stainless steel with parcels kept separate ahead of blending, followed by traditional method secondary fermentation in bottle. Lees aging is extended for a measured period before disgorgement at Brut level, keeping emphasis on clarity and chalk driven structure. Obsidienne holds a central place in the Petit & Bajan range as a technical expression of Grand Cru Pinot Noir shaped by meticulous vineyard work and disciplined maturation.
