Description
Pinot Noir driven sourcing from Ay, Mareuil-sur-Ay, and other chalk influenced sites underpins NV Philipponnat Champagne Brut Royal Réserve, framed by a house history that reaches back to the early sixteenth century. The vineyards span varied exposures and soil depths, and management emphasizes sustainable practice, detailed plot separation, and harvest timing calibrated to preserve structural components across multiple villages. Base wines are vinified primarily in stainless steel, with select lots fermented in oak to broaden textural range. Reserve wines, maintained in a perpetual solera style system, form an important part of the blend and reinforce continuity within the non vintage framework. Traditional method secondary fermentation in bottle and extended lees aging follow before disgorgement and dosage adjustments. Within the Philipponnat range, Brut Royal Réserve functions as a central expression of the house’s Pinot Noir oriented sourcing combined with long established multi vintage blending expertise.
