Description
Produced by the Piot-Sévillano family in Vincelles, NV Champagne Brut Essence de Terroir draws on vineyards cultivated by six generations on the right bank of the Marne, where farming has progressively shifted toward sustainable and biodynamic practices. Fruit for the cuvée is sourced from parcels on clay limestone and sandy marl, with block by block differences in drainage and heat retention shaping a long, even ripening cycle in this cooler sector of the Vallée de la Marne. Viticulture emphasizes precise pruning, manual soil work, and canopy management adapted to each plot’s microclimate. Grapes are harvested by hand and pressed in a traditional Coquard press, with musts fermented separately in stainless steel or neutral barrels according to parcel character. After tirage, the wine undergoes extended aging on the lees prior to disgorgement. Within the estate’s range, Essence de Terroir reflects an effort to align detailed vineyard mapping with a restrained, site focused interpretation of non vintage Champagne.
