Description
Assembled entirely from Chardonnay across multiple harvest years, NV Ruinart Champagne Brut Blanc de Blancs is a Champagne AOC from France within the house’s non-vintage blending program. Maison Ruinart was founded in Reims in 1729 by Nicolas Ruinart, following the earlier vision of Dom Thierry Ruinart, and remains closely associated with Chardonnay within a large-house framework. The cuvée draws on about 25 to 30 Chardonnay crus, mainly from the Côte des Blancs, Montagne de Reims, Sézannais, and the north of the Vesle Valley. These areas include Champagne chalk, marl, and limestone formations, though producer material presents the sourcing by region rather than by single-parcel altitude or exposure. Grapes are hand harvested, fermented in temperature-controlled stainless steel, and undergo malolactic fermentation. The blend includes approximately 20 to 25 percent reserve wines from the two preceding years and is finished at Brut dosage. Blanc de Blancs situates Ruinart’s work through Chardonnay selection, non-vintage reserve management, and continuity across Champagne subregions.
