Description
NV Vergano Vino Chinato Bianco Luli, bottled here in half liter format, extends the same small scale program, rooted in Vergano’s background as a chemist and his long study of Piedmontese aromatized wine traditions. Base wine is drawn from local white varieties grown on limestone and clay slopes around Asti and Alba, where moderate elevations and steady ventilation encourage balanced ripening suited to subsequent botanical work. Growers supply fruit farmed with an emphasis on clean, structurally sound musts rather than aromatic intensity, leaving room for the botanicals to define the final register. In the cellar, Vergano prepares separate infusions of herbs, citrus components, and spices, then blends them into the base wine with a measured addition of neutral spirit to stabilize the mixture. The assembled Chinato Bianco rests in tank before bottling to allow integration. Luli holds a distinct place in the range, illustrating a precise, technically controlled interpretation of traditional aromatized production centered on white varieties.
